10/9/2019

Picture
The two components of this composition occupy their space with fundamental tension.  This work explores the idea of facing that, which is different than us.
The Other will be on exhibit through spring 2021, at The Commons  located at 46 Bradford Street Provincetown, Ma.

Shapes and Shadows

My wall mounted sculpture, titled Davida, is drastically foreshortened, and projects off the wall less than four inches.  This work captures a sense of change and transience, which viewers notice when moving by the work.
Davida was selected by juror Abigail Ogilvy—Abigail Ogilvy Gallery for exhibition at the South Shore Art Center, located in Cohasset, MA.

Director of the Helen Day Art Center, Rachel Moore, selects work by Colin Moore for Exhibition.

Picture
I am happy to announce that Rachel Moore, Director of the Helen Day Art Center, located in Stowe, Vermont, has selected my work for Exposed 2017.  My sculpture Emily, will be installed for exhibition in the town of Stowe, Vermont; along with works by ten fellow artists.  The show runs thru October 21, 2017.

The sculpture Emily may evoke a variety of feelings depending on the direction from which it is viewed.  I created this piece in response to the sense of separation I observe, and experienced.  This sculpture is part of a lager body work I call the Empathy Project.

I'm excited to announce that my work has been chosen for a National Juried Exhibition by MassMOCA museum curator Denise Markonish.  Denise juried the show titled On the Edge which will be on display at the South Shore Art Center, located in Cohasset, MA, from November 13 to December 20, 2015.

In Markonish's own words:
"Traditional figurative sculpture can be a tricky terrain, I appreciate [Colin Moore's] obvious skill but also their willingness to go with a non-traditional pose. The gesture of the shrugging, nonplussed girl is a great monument to teenagerdom."

Join me for the opening reception on November 13, 6-8pm.  I will also be giving an artist talk on December 6, 2015 at 1pm. Visit the South Shore Art Center's website for more info.
